To Quote Laura, Let's Start A Ra Ra Riot!

Liz and I started our weekend early on Saturday, at least by our standards. Instead of our usual 11 AM brunch, we met at 10:30 as soon as the dining hall opened in hopes of leaving UB by 11:30. By one we were at RIT with Laura. We spent the afternoon in her room before heading off for the concert.
It was in a beautiful old theater, which was both a nice and horrible surprise because 1:we could sit and 2:we had to sit. Or so we thought. We sat far back enough that we could see for the two opening bands, Phantogram and El Ka Bong, neither of which impressed me overmuch, but as soon as Ra Ra Riot came on, so many people rushed to the front that we could no longer see and moved back. Not content, I decided to go up to the front and take pictures. While crossing an empty row of seats in the dark, I made the unfortunate decision of running so as not to disturb the view of those behind me. Encoutering a seat that was down instead of folded up like the rest, I tripped and hit the floor hard. Really hard, succeeding in both giving myself a decent brush burn and doing something to my neck. The concert was still amazing, though I was a bit preoccupied with how much my arm hurt. Really, the night didn't go extremely well for me. All of my pictures came out awful as I only found the proper camera settings during the encore.

This was the best picture I got of the whole band (better quality on my Flickr). But I did get one picture which I really really like:

Even the horrible image quality turned out to be a blessing in disguise, the pixelation and color distrotion on her face makes it look like it's been run through some strange filter.

Then we come back to UB on Sunday and I did hardcore homework. Lots of it. And that was my weekend. It was definitely fun, and I would do it again. Actually, I will do it again. On March 27, when Ra Ra Riot are in Rochester again. And I'll get better pictures, promise!
