It has been a very, very long time since I've posted. Things got busy, I spent a period of time without proper internet access, stuff happened. I plan to update more ofter this year, but who knows how that will work out?
Today was my second day of classes in the new semester. After a flurry of schedule changing (Adding a course I didn't know I needed, dropping both art classes I had signed up for, adding a one credit architecture course, dropping the same architecture course because it involved walking in a bad section of Buffalo alone after dark) the final result looks like this:
Monday: Drafting, Engineering Numerical Methods, World Civilizations recitation
Tuesday: Calculus 2, Engineering Numerical Methods lab, World Civilizations, Virginia Woolf and Nella Larson
Wednesday: Drafting, Drafting lab, Engineering Numerical Methods
Thursday: Calculus 2, Calculus 2 recitation, World Civilzations
Friday: nothing
Not a lot of classes, only 15 credits, but a lot of homework. I made a very impressive calendar of what is due when/exam schedules on my white board today, running through the 20th of February.
I woke up early this morning and did some homework, took a shower and had a leisurely breakfast before heading off for calculus at 11. I had originally planned to stay in the classroom buildings for the rest of the day, but I forgot two of my notebooks and had to go back to my room. Which meant I had to go back out into the nastiness. We had continuous flurries all day, making for a lot of disgusting slush. None of my shoes were quite up to the task except for my rubber rain boots, so I changed into them, got my notebooks and headed back to the other side of campus (hooray for buses!) for my programming lab, which was unbelievably boring, since I learned it in high school. From there I went to World Civ, which seems like it is going to be a very interesting class, though I learned that I had already missed a recitation. Last up on the schedule was my honors seminar for the semester, an unfortunately titled class called "Virginia Woolf Nella Larson." It's a literature course, and I knew it wouldn't be easy, but it was more than a little disquiting, with only four other students, one other freshman, a Ph. D student and no other non-literature majors. I think I'm in over my head, but the teacher seemed very nice so hopefully it will work out.
In other news, I destroyed my cell phone. Again. This is the second time I smashed the screen- instead of sitting on it, this time I tripped over the power cable while it was charging and sent it crashing to the floor. A new screen is coming in the mail, thankfully it is very easy to replace, but I can only see a small portion of my screen so the sooner it gets here the better!
I think I'm going to start Twittering again as soon as my phone is fixed, I really miss it. When I do, I'll post a link. Also, my Skype name is emalynn.eleriel (same as my email), though I'm not on very often.
I miss you all already!
